2009 Youth Exchange

Welcome to the 2009 Youth Exchange Trip Site!

This day’s weather reflected our group’s overall mood: mostly cloudy skies mimicked the sadness of saying goodbye to new friends, yet the sun peeking through the clouds represented the happy homes awaiting our guests at the end of their (gulp) 24-hour journey. Conversations about last night’s parties explained the many bleary eyes. 2:30 a.m.? 4 a.m.? No sleep at all? God bless the host parents who helped our students enjoyed their final hours together! But we gathered for a purpose, and eventually the bus arrived and bags were loaded. Our final goodbyes brought tears to many eyes, laughter to all, warm wishes for a safe trip home and promises to reunite next summer in Germany. For many, that time cannot possibly come quickly enough.
